Weird "October Surprise" speculation from an Oriental rug mailing list

I belong to a mailing list about Oriental rugs  moderated by a guy who has been involved with Repub politics for over 20 years. Tonight he posted the following message to the list. I was appalled by his casual reference to the "type of deal Bush might make." Barry is blissfully unaware of how many Kerry supporters his little mailing list might harbor. Or that at least one of us is a Kossack.

How ironic that this "deal" might involve an Iranian "October Surprise." Will update if I learn more.

I try not to inject too much politics in here but I am going to make an exception. Hassan Rowhani the Secretary of the Islamic Republic of Iran's Security Council (Notes on Hassan Rowhani
http://www.sw-asia.com/People/Bio911.htm ) made a startling announcement today. He has publicly endorsed George Bush for President. He is concerned that the Democrats are too focused on Human Rights and that Bush is far closer to the hard-liners of Iran. I understand their logic but I am also amazed. There is talk of a secret deal and negotiations between the US and Iran in Greece. Iran has been trying to exchange Osama Bin Laden's son for some criminals in the MKO so
their may be a pre-election surprise in the works to influence a Bush victory. It will take a major fix to keep Bush in office as it is shaping up to be a Kerry blow-out in the election. Kerry needs 270 Electoral College Votes to win and he is poised to take over 300. Who knows what sort of deal President Bush might make.

As many of you know I am working full time on the
campaign. I focus on the battle ground states. So like everyone else I will be watching to see how the race shakes out. Since President Clinton dropped the embargo on Persian Carpets the barriers have been dropping. I hope that no matter who wins that grow closer in our ties to Iran and that we be a force for good in the region. Hopefully I will be able to get back to Iran soon. I have so many questions to answer
and so much work to do in my rug studies.
